Frostburg State Senior Devin Colegrove and Marymount Junior Mike Kempel Earn CAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

YORK, Pa. -- Frostburg State senior Devin Colegrove and Marymount junior Mike Kempel were honored as the CAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for March 9, 2015.  

Offensive Player of the Week

Frostburg State senior Devin Colegrove was selected as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after notching 13 points in a 2-0 week for the Bobcats that included a 14-9 upset of No. 16 Washington College. Colegrove opened the week with six points (4g, 2a) in a 16-4 win over Mount Union. He then helped Frostburg State to its first upset of a ranked opponent with one goal and six assists against the Shoremen. 

Defensive Player of the Week

Marymount junior goalkeeper Mike Kempel was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 16 saves in a pair of wins for the Saints last week. Kempel collected eight saves in wins over Hood and Mount Union with a goals against average of just 4.33 throughout his 97 minutes between the pipes. He finished the week with a save percentage of 69.6%.

York is ranked No. 16 and Salisbury is No. 17 in the USILA Rankings, while Frostburg State is receiving votes ... In Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Rankings, Salisbury is No. 15 and York is No. 16 ... CNU's Will Geise recorded seven points against Methodist with three goals and four assists. His seven points rank fourth on the program's all-time single-game list. Guided by his efforts, CNU set a new single-game scoring record with 23 goals against the Monarchs ... Marymount's Max Johnson collected seven points (5 goals, 2 assists) in a 2-0 week for the Saints, including a fourth-quarter hat trick in the 20-9 Saturday win over Mount Union ... Thomas Cirillo led Salisbury with three goals in its only game of the week, a 9-8 overtime setback to No. 15 Ohio Wesleyan.
