YORK, Pa. -- A pair of repeat winners were selected this week as Salisbury senior Luke Campbell and Frostburg State junior J.R. Lowery were honored as the CAC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for April 5, 2016.

Salisbury senior Luke Campbell grabbed CAC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight week after recording the fastest times in the nation in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles at the Colonial Relays. In the 110 hurdles, Campbell posted a 14.04-second time in the preliminaries and went on to finish second in the finals at 14.40. He also raced to a time of 51.24 in the 400 hurdles to claim gold, setting setting the top time in the country by more than a second.

Frostburg State junior J.R. Lowery was picked as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after breaking his own school record in the hammer throw at the Bobcat Invitational. Lowery captured wins in the shot put and hammer throw, hitting ECAC-qualifying marks in both and breaking his own school mark in the hammer at 54.70 meters.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

All seven CAC track & field teams competed last weekend, continuing their preparation for the upcoming CAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships set for April 22-23 at Frostburg State ... Christopher Newport and Salisbury competed at the Colonial Relays at William & Mary, Penn State Harrisburg and York traveled to nearby Millersville for the Millersville Metrics, Frostburg State hosted its annual Bobcat Invitational, Mary Washington competed at the Roanoke Invitational, and Wesley traveled to Widener for the Daniel Curran Invitational ... CNU's Billy Rabil helped lead the 4x1500 relay to a new school record during the Colonial Relays on Saturday. The foursome finished in 16:03.41, which shaved nearly 12 seconds off the previous standard. That clocking also ranked fifth among all teams - and first among non-Division I programs - at the meet. Rabil also posted a time of 3:55.96 in the 1500, which currently ranks ninth in the NCAA this year ... Mary Washington competed at Roanoke on Saturday. Chris Anderson took second in the 1500 meters at 4:10.18, Ian Granger took third in the 5000 meters at 15:48, with Nick Eghtessad fourth at 16:25. Dylon Garrett was second in the pole vault at 3.65 meters, with Adam Nugent third at 3.35 meters. Daniel Forjan was fourth in the hammer throw at 41.69 meters, and fifth in the discus at 39.28 meters. Matt Parker was fourth in the javelin at 44.07 meters ... Salisbury's Matthew Adedeji placed fifth in the triple jump at the Colonial Relays, leading Salisbury in the field events ... Wesley's Brandon Hunter earned an outright win in the triple jump at the Danny Curran Invitational. The Wolverine sophomore completed a leap of 13.13m to take gold ... York senior sprinter Darnell Tillman recorded a first-place finish for the third-straight outdoor meet as he won the 400 meters and set a new school record with a time of 21.64. Tillman broke the old school record mark of 21.72 which stood since 1988. Kevin Landis earned a second-place finish in the pole vault for the Spartans.
