Christopher Newport sophomore JJ LaPointe was selected as the CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after leading the Captains with a 10th-place finish at the Don Cathcart Invitational at Salisbury. He posted a new PR in the 8k with a time of 25:47.9 for an average of 5:11.4 per mile. Guided by LaPointe's efforts, CNU placed third among the 20 teams and first among CAC programs.

JJ LaPointe was one of nine Christopher Newport runners to register a personal record at the Don Cathcart Invitational ... For Mary Washington at Salisbury, Ben Sorensen paced the team in 33rd overall at 26:27 ... Marymount sophomore Collin Chartier led the Saints with an 11th-place finish at Salisbury. His time of 25:50.76 was over a minute faster than the school record he set last year ... St. Mary's junior Aidan Hennessey picked up a 12th-place finish at the Messiah Invitational, pacing the team to third place ... Salisbury senior George Martinez led the Sea Gulls in the Don Cathcart Invitational by placing 15th in the event at 25:55.9.
