YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport junior Meagan Jones and Salisbury juniors Molly Simpson and Annah Brittingham were selected as the CAC Softball Players of the Week for March 30, 2015.

Christopher Newport junior Meagan Jones received CAC Co-Player of the Week honors after hitting .579 (11-for-19) with nine RBIs and 11 runs scored in a 5-1 week for the Captains. Jones posted a home run, a triple and a double, and also stole three bases on the week.

Salisbury junior Molly Simpson was honored as the CAC Co-Player of the Week after proving to be a potent offensive threat through six CAC wins for the Sea Gulls last week, slugging 1.048 with three home runs. Simpson also ripped a pair of doubles and a triple, while driving in 10 runs, scoring five times and hitting .429 for the week.

Salisbury junior Annah Brittingham was selected as the CAC Pitcher of the Week after picking up three wins with two complete games and a shutout in the past week, all in CAC contests. Opponents hit just .137 off Brittingham last week as she posted a 0.35 ERA in 20 innings of work, striking out 17 and walking just seven.

Salisbury is ranked No. 2 and Christopher Newport No. 24 in the March 25 NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll ... After numerous game postponements this spring, all eight CAC teams have now opened up conference play ... Salisbury (8-0 CAC) and Christopher Newport (4-0 CAC) remain unblemished in CAC action ... Mary Washington senior Brittany Scites hit .444 in the Eagles split with Lynchburg on Wednesday, with four hits in nine at bats. Senior Hannah Otterman pitched 10 innings in gaining a 4-3 win over Lynchburg. She allowed two earned runs on seven hits, with three walks and three strikeouts.
