YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury senior Julia McLaughlin was honored as the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 15, 2016.

Salisbury senior Julia McLaughlin was honored as the CAC Player of the Week for the third time this year after notching a pair of double-doubles in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls, who clinched a playoff spot with wins over Wesley and Southern Virginia. McLaughlin scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in both games, while also averaging 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest. She shot 57.1% from the floor and 80% from the free throw line and has now recorded eight double-doubles on the year.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Five of the six CAC playoff spots have been locked up with one week remaining in the regular season ... Christopher Newport and Marymount are tied atop the standings at 14-2, followed by Mary Washington (13-3), York (11-5) and Salisbury (8-8) ... St. Mary's (6-10) is currently in sixth place, with Penn State Harrisburg and Wesley both one game back at 5-11 ... Four CAC teams are ranked in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings - Marymount (No. 4), Christopher Newport (No. 6), Mary Washington (No. 7) and York (No. 8) ...  In the D3hoops.com Week 9 national rankings, Christopher Newport jumped five spots to No. 18, while Mary Washington entered the top 25 at No. 23 and Marymount received 11 votes ... CNU is also ranked in the WBCA / USA TODAY Coaches' Poll, at No. 19, while UMW received 4 votes ... CNU's Jessica Daguilh registered her first career 20-point performance on 10-of-11 shooting at York. CNU has now matched the second-longest winning streak in program history with a 16-game roll ... Frostburg State senior Courtney Young averaged 12.5 PPG and 11.5 RPG in two losses last week ... Junior Brianne Comden continued to lead Mary Washington, as the Eagles split a pair of key contests last week. She scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds as UMW fell at CNU on Wednesday. On Saturday, despite battling foul trouble, she scored 18 points and added 10 rebounds as the Eagles topped Marymount to stay one game out of first place in the league standings ... Marymount senior Kievanna Lacey notched her third 20-plus point game on Wednesday night in an 18-point victory over the Penn State Harrisburg, shooting 58.3% from the floor for a game-high 20 points. For the week, she averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game ... Nina Haller averaged 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for St. Mary's. Haller started the week with a game-best 18 points while hauling in nine caroms and matching a season-best with five blocks at York. She finished the week with 10 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks in a win over Penn State Harrisburg ... Southern Virginia's Larissa Macfarlane had two 20-plus point games last week, including a career-high 23 points vs. Frostburg State. She leads the team with 13.0 PPG this season and is second with 5.5 RPG ... Wesley's Alexus Stroud was the Wolverines' top offensive weapon last week in a 1-1 week, recording 23 points in a loss to Salisbury before netting 30 in a 76-72 overtime win against Frostburg State.
