St. Mary's Junior Gillian Sawyer and Southern Virginia Senior Makenzie Cox Honored As CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- St. Mary's junior Gillian Sawyer and Southern Virginia senior Makenzie Cox earned CAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors for Oct. 6, 2014.

St. Mary's junior Gillian Sawyer was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after guiding the Seahawks to a 2-0 week in conference action with two goals and an assist. Sawyer started the week with both scores in a 2-1 win at Mary Washington for the Seahawks' first CAC win of 2014. She finished out the week by assisting on the game-winner in a 2-0 win over Wesley.

Southern Virginia senior Makenzie Cox was awarded as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after not allowing a goal in over 250 minutes of work between the pipes last week. Cox recorded three wins, two shutouts and five saves for the week, including a shutout CAC victory over Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday.

St. Mary's win over Mary Washington marked just the sixth Seahawk win in the last 37 meetings between the two sides ... Salisbury won its fourth straight as junior Victoria Luc notched the game-winning goal for the Sea Gulls in the 87th minute of Saturday's matchup against Frostburg State ... Penn State Harrisburg junior Rachel Sheltler scored both goals in a 2-1 CAC victory over Marymount ...
