Marymount freshman Hayley Elizondo was named the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after recording three individual victories and a top relay finish in the Saints' 155-107 CAC victory over Salisbury on Saturday. Elizondo cruised to victories in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.69), 200 breaststroke (2:34.11), and 200 IM (2:14.23), while also helping the Saints 400 medley relay (4:12.27) to gold.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

All six CAC women's swimming teams were in action last week ... The CAC Championships are just a month away, set for Feb. 17-19 at St. Mary's ... Frostburg State junior Macey Nitchie won all four of her events in a tri-meet with York and Salem International. Individually, Nitchie won the 50-meter freestyle (27.44), 100-meter freestyle (58.99), and broke a 14-year old school record in the 100-meter butterfly (1:11.00) ... Senior Anna Corley won three individual races as Mary Washington defeated St. Mary's on Saturday. Corley won the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.29 seconds, and won the 200 freestyle at 2:00.09. She capped her day with a first in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:44.24. She also won as a member of the 200 medley relay that finished at 1:52.30 ... Salisbury senior Victoria Radcliffe posted three victories in a CAC defeat to Marymount. Radcliffe won the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.98), 100-yard freestyle (55.68), and 500-yard freestyle (5:28.69), collecting 27 points for the Sea Gulls ... York sophomore Maddy Mann has helped the Spartans to six-straight wins, including triumphs over Galluadet, Penn State Altoona, Frostburg State, and Salem International last week. Mann leads the Spartans with 18 individual victories in nine meets this season, and owns the top CAC times in the 500 freestyle and 1,000 freestyle.
