YORK, Pa. -- Penn State Harrisburg freshman Sydney Nye was honored as the CAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for Oct. 4, 2016.

Penn State Harrisburg freshman Sydney Nye was honored as the CAC Player of the Week after capturing wins at both No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles in a non-conference matchup against Goucher. Nye downed her singles opponent in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, and teamed with fellow freshman Alicia Hitz for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles.

All eight CAC women's tennis squads have now opened their fall 2016 campaigns ... Five CAC teams are slated to compete this week as the fall season begins to wind down ... Frostburg State started the year 1-1 with an 8-1 victory over Waynesburg and a 8-1 loss to Fairmont State ... York's scheduled match against Messiah was postponed due to rain, and will be played on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
