Marymount Freshman Luke Tyree and York Junior Randy Frankenfield Named CAC Baseball Players of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Marymount freshman Luke Tyree and York junior Randy Frankenfield claimed CAC Baseball weekly honors for March 21, 2016.

Marymount freshman Luke Tyree was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after batting .625 with two home runs and five RBIs in a 2-0 week for the Saints with wins over Penn State Harrisburg and No. 11 Frostburg State. Tyree went 5-for-8 at the plate, and posted an on-base percentage of .667 along with a 1.500 slugging percentage. Against the Lions, he notched a career- and game-high four hits on five plate appearances, bringing home a game-high four RBIs, knocking out his first collegiate home run, and finishing just a triple shy of the cycle. Against the Bobcats, he added his second home run of the week in the eighth inning to help seal the 5-3 victory.

York junior Randy Frankenfield earned CAC Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing six shutout innings in the Spartans' 8-0 win over St. Mary's on Wednesday. Frankenfield struck out six, walked two and allowed just one hit. He didn't allow the hit until there was two outs in the top of the sixth, and retired the first 10 hitters he faced before walking a batter in the fourth.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
CAC play is now in full swing as all 10 teams have played at least four conference contests ... Marymount is the lone unbeaten in CAC action at 4-0 ... Four CAC teams are ranked in the D3baseball.com National Poll, with Salisbury at No. 10, Frostburg State at No. 11, Christopher Newport at No. 15, and Mary Washington at No. 17 ... In the Collegiate Baseball/ABCA rankings, Salisbury is No. 8, Christopher Newport is No. 18, Mary Washington is No. 25 and Frostburg State is No. 28 ... CNU's Brandon Ginch hit a team-best .455 and reached base at a .667 clip last week in a 2-2 week for the Captains ... Frostburg State went 2-3 last week including 2-2 in CAC play. Greg Schneider struck out 13 and allowed just two earned runs but didn't factor into the decision in a 4-3 win over Salisbury. Brad Garrant hit .318 with six runs, two home runs and five RBIs for the Bobcats, with homers against Ferrum and Salisbury ... Junior Kyle Bynum hit .444 for Mary Washington last week, with a double, triple, home run, and four RBIs. The Eagles topped No. 8 Shenandoah on Monday ... Marymount's Conner Hall made appearances on the mound in both games for the Saints last week, earning the win against Penn State Harrisburg and his first career save against Frostburg State ... Tyler Hrycak helped lead Salisbury to a 2-2 week, including two CAC wins. Hrycak had at least one hit in each game, while connecting on his first three home runs of the year. All three homers came in conference play, including in wins over Wesley and Frostburg State ... Joseph Hummel was Wesley's most consistent hitter on the week, going 9-for-15 (.600) with six runs, five RBIs, and a 1.267 slugging percentage. He hit for the cycle in Saturday's game one win against Mary Washington ... Southern Virginia's Tayler Peterson threw a four-hit shutout at Penn State Harrisburg in seven innings on the mound. Peterson has 27 strikeouts on the year. Marcus Begg hit his second and third home runs of the year last week and leads the Knights with 14 RBIs and avg of .324 this season.
