Salisbury Junior Luke Campbell and and Frostburg State Junior J.R. Lowery Named CAC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury junior Luke Campbell and Frostburg State junior J.R. Lowery were named the CAC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for April 7, 2015.

Salisbury junior Luke Campbell was named CAC Track Athlete of the Week after moving up in the national rankings in both the 110- and 400-meter hurdles at the Colonial Relays. Campbell took over the top spot in the country in the 110 hurdles with a second-place time of 14.07 seconds. He then moved up to No. 2 in the nation in the 400 hurdles with a 52.17-second race. In both races, he was the top Division III finisher at the meet.

Frostburg junior J.R. Lowery was awarded the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after securing three of the team's eight wins at the Bobcat Invitational. Lowery came in first for the hammer throw with a throw of 169'-11'', which ranks first place in the conference and top-20 in the nation. He also won the shot put at 50'-5.25'' and the discus at 132'-7''.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
All seven CAC men's track & field teams were in action last week, with three competing at the Colonial Relays at William & Mary and two competing at York's Twilight Invitational ... Salisbury led the trio of teams at the Colonial Relays with a 14th-place team finish out of the 42 competing squads, while Christopher Newport took 25th and Wesley nabbed 32nd ... At the York Twilight Invitational, the host Spartans placed fourth out of the 11 teams, with Mary Washington taking fifth ... The Christopher Newport 4x1500 relay squad set a new program record as Daniel Richard, Billy Rabil, Zachary Campbell and Samuel Martin joined forces to complete the relay in 16:15.24, which placed them fourth overall and cut 22 seconds off CNU's old record set last year during the same meet at William & Mary ... Penn State Harrisburg competed at the Millersville Metrics, led by Joey Phifer's sixth-place showing in the 800 meters at 1:59.45 ... Salisbury's Dylan Burkett finished in the top seven of three events for the Sea Gulls at the Colonial Relays, claiming the top spot among Division III competitors in the discuss, shot put and hammer throw ... Wesley opened its outdoor season at the Colonial Relays, led by DaJahn Lowery and Roland Attoh-Okine. Lowery placed eighth overall out of 62 runners in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.41. His 10.84 preliminary time qualified him for the finals, and ranks 12th in NCAA Division III. Attoh-Okine competed in both the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles and clocked a 14.75 and 56.95, respectively. Attoh-Okine's mark in the 110m hurdles ranks 10th in the nation ... York sophomore thrower Ian O'Brien took home the Spartans only first-place finish as won the hammer throw with a distance of 175' 5.5". O'Brien's mark set the new facility record, surpassing the old mark of 173' 2" set on May 9, 2013. O'Brien currently ranks first in the CAC and inside the top-10 in the Division III.
