YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Billy Rabil was named the CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for Oct. 7, 2014.

Christopher Newport sophomore Billy Rabil was chosen as the CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after leading the Captains with a 36th-place effort during Willamette's Charles Bowles Invitational, one of the largest cross country meets on the West Coast. He completed the 8k in 25:52.31, which moved him to 16th on the program's all-time performance list. His effort also helped CNU place fourth overall, behind Oregon (ranked third in Division I), Chico State (ranked sixth in Division II), and Willamette.

Christopher Newport took over the top spot in the South/Southeast Region Week 4 rankings, while Mary Washington is ranked 10th ... Mary Washington saw Ben Sorenson finish 12th overall at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational at 26:30 ... Thomas Burke paced Salisbury to a second-place team finish with a seventh-place mark in the Paul Short run ... Southern Virginia freshman Michael Myers placed fourth overall at the Maryville Invitational with an 8k time of 28:03.11, helping the Knights to third-place finish out of 10 schools ... Wesley's Urgy Eado ran the third-fastest time in school history (27:42) in his first collegiate race at the Paul Short run.
