YORK, Pa. -- St. Mary's junior Claire Kostelnik, Frostburg State senior Erin Worthman and Christopher Newport sophomore Carly Maglio were chosen as the CAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 12, 2015.

St. Mary's junior Claire Kostelnik was honored as the CAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after tallying a goal and two assists in a 2-0 week for St. Mary's, giving the Seahawks sole possession of first place. Kostelnik assisted on both goals in a 2-1 win at Salisbury before netting the game-winner just 23 seconds into overtime for the 2-1 victory over Mary Washington. She is currently tied for the conference lead with six assists.

Frostburg State senior Erin Worthman was honored as the CAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after breaking the CAC single-game goal-scoring record with five goals in the Bobcats' 5-1 victory over Penn State Harrisburg last Wednesday. The five goals set a new CAC record for goals in a conference game, while her 10 points also set a CAC record for most points in a single game. Six players had previously scored four goals in a CAC contest, most recently St. Mary's Lauren Carrier in 2008. Three players had previously tallied nine points in a conference match, most recently York's Erin Kuhn in 2006.

Christopher Newport sophomore Carly Maglio was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after picking up a combined shutout on the road at Southern Virginia and capturing her fourth win of the season with a complete-game effort against York. She posted three saves in the 2-1 win over the Spartans, and tallied a .750 save percentage and 0.58 goals against average for the week.

Salisbury received votes in last week's D3soccer.com national rankings ... Christopher Newport's Allie McWilliams led the Captains to a perfect 2-0 week in CAC action, scoring a team-high eight points in two games with two goals and four assists in wins over Southern Virginia and York. Victoria Perry also finished the week with eight points, scoring three goals and adding a pair of assists. The seven goals against the Knights was a new program high against a conference opponent and the second most goals scored in a game under head coach Dan Weiler. With the four-assist week, McWilliams is now tied for the league lead in helpers (6)... Frostburg State defeated Penn State Harrisburg 5-1 and played to a 0-0 draw with Salisbury ... Mary Washington topped York, 2-1, on Wednesday, before falling, 2-1, in overtime at St. Mary's on Saturday ... Marymount's Erin Harris put together a career day in a 4-3 loss to Penn State Harrisburg with a goal and two assists ... Trailing 3-0 after 30 minutes of play, Penn State Harrisburg came storming back for a thrilling 4-3 victory against Marymount on Friday. Senior defender Morgan Gates led the way with a goal and an assist on the game-winner ... Salisbury goalkeeper Alesha Seifert posted four saves in both games last week, including a diving save in the second overtime period against Frostburg State to keep the game scoreless ... Wesley's Janiah Moore scored the game-winner in overtime to lift the Wolverines to a 2-1 victory over Southern Virginia on Friday. Moore has notched 11 goals on the season, including four scores in four conference contests.
