Mary Washington senior Lauren Braney was honored as the CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after placing first individually and leading the Eagles to the team title at the Seahawk Invitational hosted by St. Mary's. In a meet that featured the majority of CAC squads, Braney finished in 23:55 to take top honors by 23 seconds.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport received one vote in the USTFCCCA Sept. 16 National Rankings ... CNU (2nd) and Mary Washington (8th) are ranked in the South/Southeast Regional Rankings ... CNU's Logan Harrington led all Division III competitors and placed 15th overall with a time of 19:20.458 at the William & Mary Invitational. Her performance helped the Captains place third as a team during the competition ... Eight of the 10 CAC teams competed at the Seahawk Invitational at St. Mary's in a preview of the 2015 CAC Championship course ... Mary Washington claimed five of the top six spots and totaled just 19 points to roll to the title ... Salisbury's Jessica Lane placed second at the Seahawk Invitational in leading the Sea Gulls to a second-place team finish ... Halcyon Ruskin was the St. Mary's leader for the third straight week, finishing 17th (16th in team scoring) out of 90 runners.
