Marymount junior Mason Carmel was named the CAC Golfer of the Week after placing third individually at the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial, guiding the Saints to their second team title of the spring season. Mason carded a 76 (+4) through day one and followed it up with a final round of 78 (+6) on day two for his third-place finish. The second top-team finish this week of the season marks just the second time in program history the Saints have won multiple tournaments in a single season.

The 2016 CAC Golf Championship is set for this weekend, April 15-17 at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Va. ... This year will mark the first three-day championship event and the first time the CAC champion earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament ... Christopher Newport is the two-time defending champion ... New Jersey City freshman Alexander Sill, who had been NJCU’s top golfer eight times in 10 events and 10 times in 12 total rounds this year, placed first of 10 golfers in a dual match at Yeshiva on April 10. Playing on the Split Rock Course at Pelham Bay, Sill shot an 82 to finish two shots clear of the field. Meanwhile, Sill recorded the second eagle in program history ... York placed second out of nine teams at the Alvernia Spring Invitational, led by a tied for fifth-place finish from Tyler Keim with a eight-over 80.
