YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport senior Lydia Cromwell was named the CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for Oct. 6, 2015.

Christopher Newport senior Lydia Cromwell was named the CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after posting the top time among CAC competitors at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. Cromwell completed the 6k in 22:44, finishing 75th among 387 competitors in the Brown Division, which included runners from all levels of the NCAA. Guided by Cromwell's performance, CNU finished 28th among all teams and trailed three Division III squads currently listed in the USTFCCCA rankings (No. 20 Allegheny, No. 23 Colby, and Swarthmore, which is receiving votes).

Christopher Newport is ranked 3rd and Mary Washington is 7th in the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Regional Rankings ... Frostburg State hosted the 2015 FSU Invitational on Saturday, with senior Gabbi Maher leading the way in fourth place (27:40.33). Senior Faith Thackston also posted a top-10 finish ... Mary Washington placed fifth in the team standings of the White Division at the Paul Short Run, paced by senior Lauren Braney in 19th place at 23:17 ... Penn State Harrisburg hosted the Bud Smitley Invitational, with Ashley Peart leading the way in 12th place at 28:22 on the 6k course ... Salisbury's Don Cathcart Invitational was cancelled last weekend due to inclement weather in the region.
